Biofuel Commercial

Saras is looking for a high potential who wants to develop his / her own career through a challenging path in the Commercial area in one of the leading oil refining companies in Europe, fully integrated in the Vitol group, a world leader in the energy sector.

The position is responsible for commodity origination, marketing and execution within the biofuel book and for an assigned group of customers; it also executes hedging orders and position management.

The role focuses on Biofuel, VegOils and HVO commercial optimisation, ensuring sales are fully aligned with commercial strategies and objectives, working closely with teams in Milan, Rome, London and Sarroch (Cagliari).

The person we are looking for
  • Speaks English fluently
  • Preferably has a degree in a STEM discipline or Economics with an excellent academic record
  • Shows strong quantitative and analytical capability and comfort with Excel
  • Is a team player, with an open interpersonal approach and a high level of personal integrity
  • Is results oriented, aiming for continuous improvement
  • Shows excellent attention to detail
  • Has an ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Is able to interact effectively with different stakeholders, and able to work across organisational and cultural boundaries

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Responsible for purchase and sale of biofuels and other petroleum products for the refining and wholesale system
  • Develop new business opportunities through a network of international and domestic clients
  • Negotiate sales terms and ensure all risk‑related aspects are covered in all transactions
  • Work in close connection with oil product scheduling, credit and risk management, mid‑office teams regarding planning activities and subsequent data entry
