About the job

Within the SM.I.LE80 engineering organization we look for a senior software engineer who can actively and effectively contribute to the evolution of the product, drawing on experience and willingness to learn about the unique blend of robotics, software engineering, automation and networking. Teamwork, openness, transparency, respect and courage are valued in a fully Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Co‑lead and contribute to software design, development and testing to deliver new features as part of SM.I.LE80 ecosystem evolution.
• Collaborate closely with peers within and across teams, ensuring code quality and organic evolution.
• Build and maintain a holistic view of the system.
• Document requirements and specifications, foster knowledge sharing, prepare and deliver training as needed.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in software/computer science engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 5+ years of deep experience with .NET Core/C#.
• Proven experience with design patterns, OOD, DDD, TDD.
• Extensive experience with relational databases (SQL Server / PostgreSQL) and deep knowledge of SQL and ORM frameworks.
• Experience with microservice / event‑driven architectures, APIs, message brokers, containers/docker.
• Experience with web services / API development.
• Experience with unit testing tools and hands‑on with Git & Git‑flow.
• Fluent English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in industrial automation, telco or mission‑critical software.
• Experience with BPMN/workflow and rules engines.
• Experience with cloud‑native applications (AWS, Azure, etc.) and edge & fog computing.
• Knowledge of Windows Server & Linux OS internals and CLI/shell.
• Knowledge of actor systems, particularly AKKA.net.
