Avnet, a Fortune 500 company and global leader in electronic components distribution, seeks a Backend Developer with strong Python experience to design scalable, high-performance services. You will work on data platforms and AI/LLM integrations, contributing to Avnet's digital transformation.

You will design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI, build scalable APIs, work with MongoDB, and optimize big data processing pipelines.

Competenze

• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB.
• Strong experience with big data systems and large-scale datasets.
• Proven ability to optimize performance of data transformations, particularly using Apache Spark.
• Experience working with distributed computing environments (private cloud clusters).
• Familiarity with version control systems (GitHub).
• Experience building RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of backend architectures and microservices.
• High proficiency in English (written and spoken).

You will work on innovative projects ranging from data platforms to AI/LLM integrations, directly contributing to the company's digital transformation.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI
• Build scalable and high-performance APIs for internal applications
• Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Design and optimize big data processing pipelines
• Perform and optimize large-scale data transformations using Apache Spark on private cloud clusters
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data, frontend, business)
• Manage code versioning using GitHub
• Contribute to modern software architecture design
• Optimize system performance and reliability.

The Ideal Person:

• Must have:
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI
• Experience with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB
• Strong experience working with big data systems and large-scale datasets
• Proven ability to optimize performance of data transformations , particularly using Apache Spark
• Experience working with distributed computing environments (e.g. private cloud clusters)
• Familiarity with version control systems (GitHub or similar)

• Solid understanding of backend architectures and microservices

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Neo4j
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Elasticsearch
• Background in AI / Machine Learning (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Familiarity with data pipelines and analytics systems.
