A leading IT services firm is seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect to join their Rome office. This role involves supporting customers in Big Data projects as well as collaboration with teams to deliver high-quality data solutions. The ideal candidate has significant experience in cloud environments, particularly Azure, and holds key certifications. This position offers a competitive salary and a full-time employment contract.

Competenze

• Experience with at least one major public cloud is essential.

Responsibilities

Your role as an Azure Data Architect at NTT Data involves supporting customers in Big Data projects, collaborating with business analysts and solution architects to understand use cases, data needs, and outcome objectives. You will deliver data acquisition, transformation, cleansing, conversion, compression, and loading of data into data lakes for analytics and machine learning models.

The Azure Data Architect at NTT Data understands the challenges of a cloud-native environment, can think outside the box to find innovative yet simple solutions, and shares these solutions with the team. We seek an engineer who can bridge Data Science and Data Engineering, with a clear understanding of both fields.

If you are a Data Scientist seeking more experience in data preparation, or a Data Engineer interested in Data Science, and you embrace a KAIZEN approach to continuously improve your skills, you may fit as an Azure Data Engineer in NTT Data’s Business Intelligence Service Line, in a culturally rich environment blending Japanese and European elements.

Required Skills

• Experience in a cloud-native environment on at least one major public cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure), with 5 years preferred on Azure
• Knowledge of Big Data architectures, both cloud and on-premise
• Azure infrastructure and networking experience
• Proven ability to develop and deliver proofs-of-concept addressing specific business needs using appropriate techniques and technologies
• Experience migrating workloads from on-premises to cloud
• Experience monitoring distributed infrastructure using Azure tools or open-source tools like Grafana, Prometheus
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, shell scripting
• SQL knowledge
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Kanban
• Experience leading medium-sized teams
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and other Azure ETL/ELT tools
• Microsoft Certification: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Additional desirable skills include other Big Data certifications (Cloudera, Databricks), experience with non-Azure ETL/ELT tools, and data visualization solutions (PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau)
