Our diverse skills and talents serve customers including governments, institutions, space agencies, and telecommunications operators, enabling Space to Connect, Secure & Defend, Observe & Protect, Explore, Travel & Navigate.

We are seeking an Avionics and Functional Architect.

The candidate will define the conceptual avionic architectures (Power, Data Handling, Guidance and Navigation, Communications), system and subsystem requirements, and oversee the avionic design implementation aligned with customer needs and requirements.

Starting from initial mission objectives, the candidate will develop operational, logical, and functional architectures, correlating them with system and subsystem requirements within the MBSE / ARCADIA methodology framework.

The candidate will work within a core system-level team and interface with agencies and customers, requiring strong communication skills, proactive problem-solving attitude, and team collaboration skills.

They should have a solid background in avionics to quickly define and manage complex avionic system designs.

Key duties:
  • Participate in the System Design Department for avionics aspects (Power, Data Handling, Guidance and Navigation, Communications).
  • Define and design system functional/avionic architectures and interfaces.
  • Perform functional analysis of complex space systems to meet customer needs.
  • Apply Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methods.
  • Conduct trade-offs at spacecraft level (mass, power, dissipation, inertia, configuration, solar array sizing, battery, TT&C, thermal, payload, propulsion).
  • Elicit system avionics requirements and define hardware/software partitioning.
  • Oversee procurement of avionic sub-systems.
  • Coordinate verification and validation at subsystem and system levels.
  • Support Quality Assurance during manufacturing, integration, and testing.
  • Interface with the customer.
Skills, experience, and qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, preferably Electronic Engineering.
  • Relevant experience in space-related disciplines preferred.
  • Knowledge of MBSE, ARCADIA methodology, and Capella tool.
  • Experience managing subcontractors technically and programmatically.
  • Leadership skills for managing a technical team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of design and simulation tools (Matlab and Python) is a plus.
