A well-established aerospace company in Milan is seeking an Avionic Cyber Security Expert to contribute to the design and validation of cybersecurity measures for avionic systems. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and at least 2 years of experience in aerospace cybersecurity. Our client is a well-established company in the aerospace sector, operating since 1962 in the design and production of avionics equipment and systems for airplanes and helicopters.

Role : Avionic Cyber Security Expert

Location : Cassina de' Pecchi, Milan

Contract : Permanent

The successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, and validation of cybersecurity measures for advanced avionic systems, ensuring compliance with international safety and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct cyber risk assessments, threat analyses, and vulnerability evaluations for avionic systems and subsystems;
• Define and implement cyber protection strategies and mitigation measures in accordance with aviation cybersecurity standards (DO-326A, DO-356A, ED-202A, ED-203A);
• Support system and software engineering teams in integrating cybersecurity requirements throughout the development lifecycle;
• Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, certification reports, and compliance evidence;
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment between safety and security objectives;
• Participate in research and innovation initiatives focused on the evolution of cybersecurity in avionics.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical field;
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in cybersecurity applied to avionics or aerospace systems.;
• Solid understanding of avionic architectures and communication protocols (e.g., ARINC 429, AFDX, CAN, IMA)
• Cybersecurity standards for aviation (DO-326A, DO-355, DO-356A)
• Security risk management frameworks (ISO 27005, NIST SP 800 series)
• Knowledge of cryptography, authentication mechanisms, and secure communication protocols;
• Familiarity with threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing methodologies is considered a plus;
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities;
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary environments;
• Proactivity, initiative, and ability to work independently when needed;
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
