A leading packaging machinery manufacturer is seeking an Automation Engineer in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna. You will be responsible for designing electronic hardware and defining PLC and HMI software solutions during the quotation phase. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in automatic machinery and a degree in Automation, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering. Competenze

About the Role

This profile is responsible for:

• Defining the design of electronic hardware for upgrade kits during the quotation phase
• Defining the update of the PLC and HMI software during the quotation phase
• Defining electrical diagram and components selections with particular focus on motion control and safety
• Analysing technical quotation of third‑party suppliers to include in the quotation
• Defining hardware or software solutions with the target to understand customer’s need
• In case of need, the solution developed during quotation will also be realised in the execution phase

What you need to be successful:

• At least 5 years of experience in automatic machinery for primary or secondary packaging
• Degree in Automation, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering
• Quotation skills and methods, also identifying risks and mitigation plan
• Knowledge of the main PLC programming environments (Schneider, Rockwell, Siemens)
• Knowledge of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, including:
  • Essential Health and Safety Requirements (EHSR)
  • EC Declaration of Conformity
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards
• Reading and editing electrical diagrams (EPLAN P5‑P8)
• Fluent English language at a professional level, written and oral
• Availability to travel
• Flexibility in managing priorities
• Effective communication skills to easily build trust towards colleagues
