Job summary

K2 Strategic in Rome, Italy is seeking an Assistant Manager/Manager with a strong MEP design background to support external design teams and reviews. The role focuses on data centre projects, supervising site management, and ensuring construction quality in line with group standards.

The candidate will lead design reviews, liaise with consultants, and help grow the engineering team, with emphasis on HVAC/Mechanical or Power distribution systems.

Qualifications

• 6 years’ minimum working experience in building services design and construction project delivery (data centre projects preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer preferred.
• Good knowledge in Mechanical or Electrical design with data centre project experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MEP software modelling (IES/ETAP or Six Sigma).
• Strong English communication; additional languages helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data centre design and construction phases for site management and construction quality control.
• Monitor construction activities and ensure facility is built to standard.
• Review and approve design consultant’s work with complete engineering calculations.
• Communicate with design consultants to achieve deliverables.

Due to expansion, the Technical Design and Delivery team is looking to hire an Assistant Manager/Manager with MEP design background to support external design team management and design review work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data centre design and construction phases for site management and construction quality control.
• Monitor construction activities closely on a regular basis and ensure the data centre facility is built to group's standard.
• Responsible for the review and approval of design consultant’s work to ensure design documents are sufficiently developed with all necessary engineering calculations in place.
• Responsible for communicating with design consultants to ensure all required deliverables are achieved.
• Responsible for maintaining K2 internal engineering standard with particular focus on HVAC and plumbing systems (Mechanical) or power distribution systems (Electrical).
• Support project commissioning and final handover activities.
• Support of K2 internal engineering design and development activities.
• Establish engineering and operation procedures following K2 standard.
• Responsible for the team growth and development

Working environment entails Walking job sites which have areas of uneven terrain. Work at heights. Work in a noisy environment. Work in confined spaces. Work environment applicable to operation team Regularly lift and/or move items and participate in group lifts. Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration. Co-ordinate body movements when using tools or equipment. May require bending or twisting the body to access equipment while working. Involves performing physical tasks all day. Use hands to manipulate small wires and objects. Push or pull objects into position.

Skills set and Qualifications Requirements

• 6 years’ minimum working experience in building services design and construction project delivery (data centre projects preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Chartered Engineer preferred
• Good knowledge in Mechanical or Electrical design with a good understanding on data centre project and relevant MEP software modelling.
• Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) with experience in Mechanical software, such as IES or 6 Sigma or Electrical software like Etap. xjncmbx
• Good command of written and spoken English. Additional language skills such as Chinese/ Italy/ Finnish / Spanish will be an added advantage to liaise with overseas counterparts
