Job summary

Springer Nature seeks an Associate or Senior Editor to join the Research Cross-Journal Editorial Team in Milan on a hybrid model. You will work with Nature Climate Change, Nature Geoscience, Nature Sustainability and Nature Water, contributing to editorial processes and strategy.

You will engage in manuscript assessment, peer-review coordination, commissioning and editing content, and close collaboration with Chief Editors and journal teams to shape cross-journal publishing strategy.

Qualifications

• PhD level (or equivalent) in Earth and/or climate science is required.
• Editorial experience and ability to manage manuscript processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

The ideal candidate would be a critical thinker with a deep understanding of their subject, curiosity and a desire to learn about areas beyond it, and who can think on their feet.**Role responsibilities:*** Supporting editorial processes relating to manuscript assessment and the peer-review process.* Commissioning, editing and writing content for journals.* Working closely with Chief Editors and journal teams, while reporting to the Head of the Research Cross-Journal Team, on other aspects of journal content and strategy, as appropriate.**Experience, Skills & Qualifications:*** Research experience to PhD level (or equivalent) in Earth and/or climate science.
