dsm-firmenich in Collecchio near Parma is seeking an Associate Manager Logistics Operations to build and shape logistics for a new manufacturing site. You will lead end-to-end transportation across road, air, and sea, and develop a local logistics team to ensure reliable service for production and customers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field, 5+ years in logistics or transport, and fluency in English and Italian.

  • Knowledge of multimodal transportation operations, including road, air, and sea freight (ADR/IATA).
  • Experience working with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.

Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Collecchio, near the vibrant city of Parma, dsm-firmenich is proud to announce the opening of a cutting-edge production plant in early 2027.

The new state-of-the-art facility will feature the latest technologies such as ASTAROME™, to enable the use of liquid flavors in dry blends, and the production of more cost-effective reaction flavors. With automated packaging lines and modern warehouse, sampling, QC lab, and expansion capacity to ship, the site will be a state-of-the-art place to help fulfil the ambition of Taste, Texture & Health of dsm-firmenich. As Associate Manager Logistics Operations, you will have the unique opportunity to help establish and shape logistics operations for one of dsm-firmenich’s newest manufacturing sites. You will build and develop a local logistics team while leading end-to-end transportation activities across road, air, and sea freight. Your work will ensure reliable service to customers and production, support international trade compliance, and help create a world-class logistics operation from day one.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage end-to-end inbound and outbound logistics operations across road, air, and sea transportation, ensuring reliable and efficient material flows to support production and customer requirements.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure on-time delivery performance and operational excellence while maintaining business continuity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Coordinate transportation activities with internal stakeholders, external logistics providers, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs partners.
  • Ensure compliance with customs, international trade, transportation, and dangerous goods regulations, while supporting the preparation and review of required shipping and export documentation.
  • Partner closely with the Customs and Trade team to ensure regulatory compliance and effective execution of import and export processes.
  • Monitor logistics service performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions that enhance service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support transportation invoice validation and logistics administration processes to ensure accurate and timely supplier payments.
  • Proactively manage logistics risks and disruptions, ensuring supply chain resilience and uninterrupted support for customers and production operations.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

For this role, the salary range is €49'000 – €50'000 gross per year. Your offer within this range will be determined based on objective, gender-neutral and role-related criteria, including your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and primary work location. Our compensation practices are designed to ensure a fair and equitable pay approach. Benefits and incentive opportunities, where applicable, may vary depending on the work location and the role.

YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience leading teams within logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
  • At least 5 years of experience in logistics or transportation in food, food ingredients, pharma, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of multimodal transportation operations, including road, air, and sea freight.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, international trade processes, and dangerous goods transportation requirements, including ADR and IATA frameworks.
  • Experience working with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and regions.
  • A proactive and accountable mindset, combined with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English and Italian.
