Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Applied Scientist to advance LLMs, semantic retrieval, and customer understanding at scale. You will help design systems that synthesize vast signals into real-time context for experiences across Amazon's surfaces.

In this role you will fine-tune models, design experiments, ship production systems, and collaborate with Alexa, Search, and Recommendations teams. You will mentor teammates and shape the technical direction of our roadmap.

Competenze

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML or related field.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, Python and related languages.
• Experience in algorithms, data structures, parsing, optimization, data mining, parallel/distributed computing, HPC.
• Experience designing experiments and statistical analysis of results.
• Publications or patents at top-tier venues.

Mansioni

• Invent new approaches to contextual retrieval, relevance scoring, and LLM-based summarization.
• Fine-tune and evaluate language models for domain-specific understanding.
• Design experiments that measure real customer impact, not just benchmark scores.
