ATG Europe seeks an AIV Systems Engineer for our client in Fino Mornasco, Italy. The role covers verification, validation and integration across complex systems in the space/aerospace sector, including test planning and campaign management.

You will work hands-on with engineering models and HW/SW test benches, applying V&V strategies while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust system performance and compliance with ECSS or related standards.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 2+ years in integration, testing, verification, and validation of complex systems.
• Ability to independently define test plans, procedures, and reports.
• Knowledge of Functional Testing, Electrical Bonding/Isolation, Vibration Testing, TVAC.
• Hands-on testing on engineering models, flat-sats, or HW/SW test benches.
• Strong Systems Engineering principles and OBDH subsystem awareness.
• Knowledge of data bus architectures and protocols; strong analytical skills.
• Fluent English and EU work eligibility.

We are looking for an AIV Systems Engineer with experience in verification, validation, integration, and testing activities for complex systems, preferably in the space or aerospace sector on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Fino Mornasco, Italy. We are looking for a technically strong, hands‑on engineer capable of working both at the system level and during practical integration and testing activities, with direct experience in the qualification and validation of complex systems and the management of related verification campaigns.

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:

• - Plan and coordinate integration and testing activities for complex systems, from the early phases through final validation;
• - Define and maintain Verification & Validation (V&V) strategies, plans, and procedures;
• - Prepare system and subsystem test plans, test procedures, and test reports;
• - Independently perform functional verification activities and test campaigns on engineering models, flat-sats, or equivalent HW/SW test benches;
• - Support system requirements definition and management, with a particular focus on requirements verification;
• - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams involved in hardware, software, operations, and integration activities;
• - Support operational validation activities and analysis of test campaign results.

Requirements

• - At least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
• - At least 2 years of experience in integration, testing, verification, and validation of complex systems;
• - Proven experience in independently defining test plans, procedures, and reports;
• - Theoretical and practical knowledge of key testing activities, including:
  • - Functional Testing;
  • - Electrical Bonding / Isolation;
  • - Vibration Testing;
  • - Thermal Vacuum Testing (TVAC).
• - Hands-on experience executing tests on engineering models, flat-sats, or HW/SW test benches;
• - Good understanding of Systems Engineering principles;
• - System-level knowledge of the main spacecraft subsystems, with particular focus on OBDH (On-Board Data Handling);
• - Knowledge of data bus architectures and protocols;
• - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• - Proactive attitude and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams;
• - Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
• - Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.

Preferred Qualifications

• - Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Jama;
• - Knowledge of MATLAB and Python;
• - Knowledge of Linux;
• - Familiarity with ECSS and/or NASA standards.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience: up to €40K (0-2 years), up to €55K (3-7 years), and up to €65K (7+ years). Final offer will be based on qualifications, skills, and overall fit for the role. Accordingly, the CCNL Level will vary from level 3 up to level 1, or in some exceptional cases level Quadro.

The salary range advertised reflects our initial expectations for the role and our internal salary scheme.
