SSC Space in Milano, Italy seeks an experienced AIT Engineer to join our space tech team. You will perform integration and test activities for medium-sized telescopes, on-site and in-house, ensuring precise alignment and thorough documentation.

You will prepare AIT documentation, support reviews, and coordinate with global logistics for site installations. 3+ years in AIT, strong reporting and CAD/Office skills, and travel flexibility are required.

• Willing to travel for site missions and shifts as required.

Mansioni

• Execute Integration & Test activities of medium-sized telescopes, including opto-mechanical subsystems, on-site and in-house.
• Conduct optical alignment and calibration with engineers to ensure high-precision setup.
• Prepare AIT documentation, procedures, workflows, and reports.
• Handle critical assemblies including optical mounts, structure, and GSE.
• Participate in night observation campaigns and system verification tests.

Requirements

• Professional experience of at least3 yearsin the domain ofAIT.
• Confidence withSpace Business documentation, such asSatellite/Payload/Equipment User Manual’s,Architecture,DesignandTest Requirements,Procedures,Assembly Drawingsand similar.
• Understanding ofissues, identification ofroot causes,definitionofsolutions.
• Goodinterpersonal skillsboth internally withcolleaguesand externally with thecustomer.
• Goodreportingcapabilities and easycommunicationto theManagement.
• Availability to execute work also inlong term missions, as per theEnvironmentalorLaunch Campaign.
• Available to work inmultiple shiftsor atweekendsandbank holidays, when necessary for the achievement ofProject milestones.
• Knowledge of thequality principleswhich apply to theSpace Business, inside and outside aClean Room.
• Use of theMS Office tools, includingMS Project. Use ofCAD Viewersoftware.

Responsibilities

As an AIT Engineer, you will:

• Execute Integration & Test activities of medium-sized telescopes, including opto-mechanical subsystems, both in-house and on-site.
• Conduct optical alignment and calibration, working closely with optical and system engineers to ensure high-precision setup.
• Prepare AIT documentation, including test procedures, integration workflows, reports and as-run procedures.
• Handle critical assemblies, including optical mounts, structural elements, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Participate in night observation campaigns and system verification tests under real sky conditions.
• Support technical reviews and meetings, contributing to design improvement feedback based on hands-on test results.
• Coordinate with logistics and operations teams for the setup and support of site installation missions globally.
