ARIANET's Air & Climate unit in Milano is seeking an Air quality modeler to join the team. You will work on atmospheric modelling, focusing on dispersion, chemical transformation and deposition using FARM-based systems.
You will draft technical reports and present results to public and private clients, and contribute to model development and European projects. You should have a master's degree in a relevant field, 2–4 years of modelling experience, and strong Unix/Linux, Fortran or Python

ARIANET, the Air & Climate unit in Italy, delivers studies, develops, designs, installs and manages cutting-edge solutions related to air quality management: diagnostic, real-time monitoring, forecast and scenario studies, for a proven customer base of industries, public and para-public entities.
To provide the best environmental solutions for our customers, we are strengthening our applied modeling team which performs studies and develops and manage simulation systems in industrial and urban areas.
In this context, we are looking for an:
You will join the ARIANET team, and you will be involved in atmospheric modelling, concerning mainly dispersion, chemical transformation and ground deposition of pollutants at regional and urban scales.
You will mainly use a simulation system including meteorological and emission models and based on FARM (Flexible Air Quality Regional Model) chemical-transport model, developed by ARIANET in collaboration with national and international research centers and with a significant user base.
You will contribute to the multiple applications of the system, typically: operational forecast of ambient air quality, yearly air quality assessments, reconstruction of past events, estimation of sources contributions, scenario studies in support of policy planning and impact assessment studies. These activities will also include drafting the relevant technical reports and presenting the results to clients, mostly public but also private.
You will progressively participate in the development of the models’ new features, documenting them.
You will also be able to actively participate in research activities carried out within European projects and to contribute to the drafting of scientific publications.

Salary: 32-38 k€ yearly gross (excluding bonus), commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
