Job description

Job Purpose

The role develops MSC AI services and the shared components on which they depend, implementing agent workflows, retrieval pipelines and integrations that bring approved AI use cases into production. It is a hands-on individual-contributor role focused on reliable delivery of complex engineering work within established architecture, quality and governance standards.

Key Accountabilities
  • Design and build AI services and agent workflows using frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain and the Microsoft Agent Framework, including orchestration logic, tool calling, structured outputs and streaming.
  • Build and optimize retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, covering chunking, embedding, indexing, retrieval strategies and reranking.
  • Develop, maintain and document assigned shared libraries and internal components reused by the AI engineering team, applying the team's approved architecture and engineering standards.
  • Build and run content-ingestion pipelines for AI knowledge bases, including incremental indexing, schema handling and data-quality controls.
  • Integrate AI services with MSC operational systems through APIs and agent tools so that agents can retrieve data and act on it.
  • Build and maintain evaluation harnesses that measure AI-output quality and use them to validate prompt, model and retrieval changes before release.
  • Use AI coding assistants as a standard part of the development workflow and contribute practical improvements to the team's approved ways of working.
  • Participate in code review, testing and release activities, applying established engineering standards and contributing improvement proposals.
  • Work with central infrastructure and DevOps functions to deploy and operate AI services, providing application-side configuration and instrumentation.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for the services and components developed.
Qualifications
  • English as the primary working language.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
  • 4-7 years of total professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience building production services in Python.
  • Strong Python development skills; this is a hands‑on role involving regular contribution to production code.
  • Hands‑on experience building LLM applications with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, the Microsoft Agent Framework or comparable technologies.
  • Practical experience with agent patterns, including tool calling, structured outputs, multi‑step orchestration and streaming.
  • Experience building retrieval‑augmented generation systems, including embeddings, vector stores, retrieval strategies and reranking.
  • Fluency with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Cursor as part of the development workflow.
  • Software‑engineering discipline, including testing, code review, version control and continuous integration.
  • Working knowledge of cloud services, preferably Azure, including Azure OpenAI.
  • Analytical mindset and a structured approach to debugging distributed and non‑deterministic systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work alongside engineering teams and business stakeholders.
  • Experience with LLM evaluation approaches, including LLM-as‑judge and regression testing for non‑deterministic systems, is an advantage.
  • Experience with asynchronous Python and streaming APIs is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with LLM observability and tracing tooling is an advantage.
  • Exposure to containers and Kubernetes is an advantage.
  • Background in travel, hospitality or another large‑scale consumer business is an advantage.
