Job summary

AI4I in Turin, Italy, invites applications for a Director to define strategic direction for AI research, development and industrial deployment. You will align scientific and engineering units—Labs, AI Foundry, and Academy—and shape multi-year plans, KPIs and recruitment strategies to meet industrial needs.

You will build partnerships with industry, public bodies and European networks, lead business development, secure funding and ensure responsible governance and financial sustainability.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead large organisations and coordinate diverse teams.
• Deep understanding of AI research and technology with industrial relevance.
• Experience securing funding and managing budgets for research/industry partnerships.
• Ability to connect research with engineering and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Define AI4I’s strategic direction for scientific and technological development and industrial impact.
• Develop multi-year Strategic Plan and the Annual Plan for approval and execution.
• Lead recruitment strategy, coordinate hiring and talent development, and manage resources.
• Build partnerships with industry, public institutions and European networks to advance AI solutions.
