Job summary

Fastweb, part of the Vodafone group in Italy, is seeking a Network Orchestration Engineer Expert for the Orchestration & Fulfilment Team in Milano with a hybrid work model. You will design and implement provisioning workflows, apply AI/ML for network optimization, and ensure integration of network and IT systems via modern APIs.

You will collaborate across Network Engineering, IT Development and Product Management, driving automation and scalable service models while handling vendor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Telecommunications Engineering or STEM equivalents.
• 3–5 years in network automation, service/resource orchestration and zero-touch operations in telco/IT.
• Strong knowledge of networking and network security.
• Familiarity with microservices architectures and API usage.
• Excellent communication with internal customers, suppliers and other functions.

Responsibilities

• Define strategies and plans for network provisioning and service orchestration as a Service.
• Design and maintain orchestration workflows for activation and management of network services.
• Evaluate and integrate AI/ML solutions for predictive network optimization and automation.
• Collaborate with Network Engineering, IT Development, and Product teams to define requirements.
• Support integration between network and IT systems via REST/NETCONF/gRPC/TMF641 APIs.
• Develop and maintain evolving service models to standardize device configuration.
• Perform troubleshooting and problem solving on complex automation processes.
• Manage projects according to business priorities, planning and steering.
• Oversee partners and suppliers, monitoring quality and timelines.
• Contribute to network evolution and scouting of new products and vendors.
• Promote Agile/DevOps practices for development, validation and deployment.
