Job summary

Thales Alenia Space in Italy seeks an Advanced Project System Engineering professional to analyze customer needs through studies, simulations, and prototypes, and formalise specifications for optimal solutions.

You will support system and space segment requirements, perform trade-offs, and lead integration, verification and validation tests, with responsibilities spanning test plans, design coherence, and customer demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Aeronautical/Space, Computer Science, …).
• Fluent in English (C1+).
• Experience in Software and/or Hardware, Systems Engineering and IVVQ activities.
• Desire to continuously develop expertise and design innovative solutions.
• Willing to specialise in conception, requirement management, development, test, integration or validation.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models and prototypes.
• Formalise specifications and architecture used to propose the best solution to clients.
• Support the definition of System and Space Segment requirement documents and perform trade-off analyses.
• Prepare and carry out integration, verification and validation tests.
• Define test plans and procedures for system level testing.
• Ensure technical coherence of the system design, interfaces and performances.
• Design the architecture of the command and control system.
• Demonstrate the solution to the customer.
• Contribute to R&D and innovative projects execution.
• Contribute to BID and proposal preparation.

• You have graduated with a Master’s degree of an Engineering School (Electronics, Aeronautical/Space Engineering, Computer Science, …)
• You are fluent in English (C1 and above certification) both listening and reading.
• You have a proven experience in Software and/or Hardware, Systems Engineering and IVVQ activities
• You want to update your expertise continuously and design innovative solutions to fit your customers’ needs
• You want to strengthen your expertise in one of the following areas: conception, requirement management, development, test, integration or validation

COMPETENCIES:

• You are familiar with engineering tools such as STK, DOORS and Capella
• You are familiar with satellite communication technical aspects
• You are familiar with complex algorithm definition and verification, in the frame of the Lunar Navigation system
• You have experience with leading engineering projects or activities

LIFE AS AN ADVANCED PROJECT SYSTEM ENGINEERING ROLE

As a Advanced Project System Engineering role within Thales, you will:

• Analyse and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, …

• Support the definition of System and Space Segment requirement documents and perform trade-off analysis
• Prepare and carry out integration, verification and validation tests

• Ensure the technical integration and coherence of the system design, interfaces, and performances.
• Design the architecture of the command and control system
• Demonstrate the solution to the customer
• To contribute to R&D and Innovative projects execution
• To contribute to the BID and proposal preparation
