Responsibilities

• Recommend and implement repairs for rotating equipment (compressors, turbines, etc.).
• Document, erect, alter, install, align, repair, replace, disassemble, move and inspect rotating equipment using proper tooling and processes.
• Plan and oversee repairs with minimal supervision; train other employees in repair processes.
• Read and comprehend drawings, work scopes and instructions; use measuring devices to assess dimensions and clearances.
• Maintain safety and quality at all times; keep work area clean and organized.
• Set up equipment and assess visual inspections; provide written recommendations based on inspections.
• Pass annual dimensional inspection tests and process documentation for turbo machinery.

Overview & Responsibilities

To recommend and implement repairs for all types of industrial and rotating equipment, including but not limited to compressors, turbines, and other equipment. Has the ability to document, erect, alter, install, align, repair, replace, disassemble, and reassemble, move and inspect all rotating equipment, using proper tooling and processes to complete work in a safe and timely manner to meet customer needs. Has the ability to plan and oversee repairs with very minimal supervision or feedback. Helps train other employees in the functions and processes in the department. Fully capable of accurately assessing and documenting a visual inspection of all types of rotating equipment and providing a recommendation. Advanced knowledge and accuracy in using various measuring devices: micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges, and other required tools necessary to perform the job. Able to accurately measure and record all critical clearances and dimensions on turbines, compressors, and any other equipment necessary. Able to pass the annual dimensional inspection test. Able to understand and process documentation associated with turbo machinery such as inspection reports, photo logs, and hold tags. Advance knowledge of lifting, rigging, crane and forklift operations. Helps train other hourly employees in repair processes and procedures. Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production. Updates job knowledge by participating in company provided educational material, training, and reading technical publications. Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities.
