A multinational engineering company in Rome is seeking a 3D CAD Mechanical Design Engineer to support major defence projects. The successful candidate will design and develop mechanical components, ensuring compliance with key standards while working collaboratively within a team. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience are required. This role offers the possibility of partial remote work.

3D CAD Mechanical Design Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a 3D CAD Mechanical Design Engineer to join its office in Roma within the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Division.

Mission

RINA is looking for a 3D CAD Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team supporting a major defence project in Rome, with the possibility of partial remote work. The selected candidates will contribute to the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for advanced systems.

Key Accountabilities

• Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical components using 3D CAD tools (NX CAD).
• Conduct layout studies, trade-off analyses, and component sizing.
• Define interfaces, select materials, and produce assembly drawings.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing principles and define manufacturing technologies in relation to available machinery.
• Ensure compliance with MIL and IEC standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to design reviews.
• Manage product data using Teamcenter PLM system.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

Skills

• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the defence sector.
• Proficient in NX CAD and Teamcenter.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with MIL and IEC standards.
