Role

As a 2nd Engineer, you will serve as a role model, responsible for performing engine watch operations, controlling and maintaining machinery, updating and controlling the planned maintenance system (PMS), and ensuring safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure smooth ship operations and maintenance of machinery, inspiring confidence and reliability in the team.
• Maintain a safety and efficiency-focused environment, leading the team with enthusiasm and trust.
• Stay passionate about new technologies and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Carry out watch according to official standards.
• Oversee maintenance and checks per PMS for designated tasks in cooperation with the Senior Engineer of the watch.
• Report all relevant changes and information to the SEOOW.
• Guide colleagues in professional development, trainings and safety protocols.
• Cultivate a supportive work environment and motivate the team to achieve excellent results.

Safety & Compliance

• Familiarize and act according to latest HESS (Health, Environmental, Safety and Security) rules and regulations.
• Create a welcoming and secure environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected.

What makes you unique

• Holder of national second engineer certificate of competency (COC III / 2 unlimited) per STCW regulations.
• At least one year of experience as a watchkeeping Engineer on a cruise vessel or as 2nd Engineer on different types of vessels.
• B2 level English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Good communication skills; curious, organized, and determined with experience in people management.
