ROLE

We are looking for collaborators to create visual communication material to tell about outcomes from initiatives around the research lines of the CMCC Divisions on Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies (RAAS). The goal is to translate research results into an accessible, engaging, and creative formats, merging visual and narrative languages.

Responsibilities
  • Developing, alongside the researchers, a visual narrative that effectively and originally communicates the scientific themes and results achieved by research and innovation projects.
  • Providing suggestions and guiding in choosing the most suitable style, tone, and narrative format according to the target audience.
  • Conceive, produce drafts, and finalize, collaborating with the research team, the identified appropriate material (e.g. storyboards, story maps, graphical abstracts, illustrations, or comic pages) at different stages of the work.
Requirements
  • Solid skills in storytelling through different formats (illustrations, comics, storyboards, storymaps, graphical abstracts, etc.).
  • Experience to elaborate from conceptual frameworks or scientific outcomes (qualitative to quantitative maps, tables, graphs etc.), translating them into clear and communicative material, made of images and text.
  • A collaborative work ethic and openness to interdisciplinary discussion.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language is an asset.
  • Good communication skills and teamworking attitude.

The selection process will be based on the candidate’s CVs and on at least one sample of the candidate’s previous work, to be included in the application. The evaluation will consider quality, clarity, and coherence with the position objectives. CMCC will not disseminate nor use this material. Failure to attach the selected artistic sample will result in your CV not being considered.

Duration, Compensation & Benefits
  • Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
  • The Managers will be based in Venice CMCC office.
  • Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience.
  • The duration of the contract will be up to 3 months.
  • Flexible working time as per internal policies.
  • Support during the immigration process, if needed.
