Project details: The Technologist will work with technical and professional autonomy and responsibility for results, supporting the Scientific Coordinator and the project partnership in the organization, implementation and documentation of project activities. In particular, the duties will include:

• planning and coordinating chemical and analytical activities on plants, legumes, ingredients, foods and products from the plantprotein supply chain;
• developing, optimizing and validating sampling, sample-preparation and analytical protocols based on NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and complementary techniques, using targeted and non-targeted approaches;
• organizing and supervising sample and data workflows, managing scientific instruments, drafting standard operating procedures and implementing quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) systems;
• processing and integrating chemical, agronomic, environmental and process data using statistical, chemometric and artificial-intelligence tools, with the aim of identifying markers of quality, authenticity, origin, traceability, stress and plant disease;
• supporting the development and validation of rapid diagnostic systems, sensors and IoT/DSS platforms, including experimental trials and field measurements;
• assessing the effects of cultivation, processing and preservation and preparing datasets, technical reports, deliverables and project documentation, while ensuring operational coordination with partners and suppliers

Required skills: Technical, scientific and organizational skills consistent with a first level Technologist profile are required, particularly in the following areas:

• analytical chemistry, food chemistry, metabolomics and characterization of plant and agri-food matrices;
• use of NMR spectroscopy and/or mass spectrometry, sample preparation, analytical-method development and validation, and interpretation of results;
• management of laboratories and scientific instruments, sample and data traceability, drafting of operating procedures and implementation of QA/QC principles;
• multivariate analysis, chemometrics, statistics and management of complex datasets; knowledge of data-analysis and programming tools such as R, Python or equivalent;
• work organization, technical coordination of activities and interaction with research groups, companies, suppliers and project partners;
• preparation of technical reports and project documentation and ability to communicate technical and scientific information in Italian and English.
