The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing technical service and support on Agfa and third-party products to customers and internal staff. This role also emphasizes customer relationship management, supporting sales activities, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of inkjet equipment, requiring strong technical problem-solving skills and excellent customer service.

You must be customer-focused, able to work independently and as part of a team, and communicate effectively on technical matters due to the customer-facing nature of the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain customer equipment effectively and efficiently.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Agfa products.
  • Troubleshoot Agfa and third-party products, including on-site and remote repairs and replacements.
  • Execute Break & Fix activities primarily within your zone and region, both on-site and remotely.
  • Carry out pre-installations and installations, either as a team member or as the responsible installer.
  • Support customers in the field.
  • Assist internal and external customers with technical questions and issues on-site and remotely.
  • Escalate problems to 2nd and 3rd tier support when necessary.
  • Assist R&D and HQ in problem-solving and risk analysis.
  • Stay updated on the equipment portfolio through training in Italy or abroad.
  • Provide high-quality service to customers.
  • Maintain good relationships with customer-facing teams.
  • Work independently, share knowledge, and maintain a team spirit.
  • Document and report technical issues.
  • Ensure proper logging and closure of support calls.
  • Complete administrative tasks as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for up-selling Agfa services and products and pass these to sales.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Electronic Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Digital Print Technology.
  • Ability to fault-find electronics to component level and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Office IT Applications (MS Word, Excel, email).
  • Valid local driving license.
