R&D Network Engineer Junior

The QuantumInternet.it research group at the University of Naples Federico II is seeking highly motivated candidates for multiple positions within the ERC Consolidator Grant project QNattyNet lead by Prof. Angela Sara Cacciapuoti. We are hiring at both Junior (MSc, PhD) and Senior (Postdoc) levels.

• Must be legally eligible to work in Italy (EU) starting in Spring / Autumn 2025

Role Overview

As an R&D Network Engineer, you will contribute to the design and implementation of quantum communication protocols and network functionalities. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to develop and deploy next-generation quantum networking solutions.

Required Qualifications

• MSc in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in one or more of the following domains :
• Data vs Control plan in TCP / IP Protocol Stack
• Software Defined Networking
• Network architectures, management, and control

Preferred Skills :

• Programming proficiency in Python / C++
• Experience with network simulators (e.g., NS-3, NS-2, OMNeT++)
• Basic knowledge of Quantum Communication Networks
