Maintenance Techs at Sonder are responsible for ensuring a flawless guest experience. They are detail-oriented, efficient, quick learners, and enjoy hands-on work. This role is ideal for someone who prefers being active over desk work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing maintenance and repairs in guest spaces, including troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural issues.
  • Conducting regular maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Carrying out handyman repairs with high-quality finishes, such as fixing furniture, doors, and windows.
  • Adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA and ADA standards.
  • Maintaining organized work areas and documenting project details.
  • Supporting third-party contractors and supervising their work.
  • Conducting walkthroughs and maintenance checks of apartments.
  • Traveling between properties as needed and supporting hospitality operations, including guest issue resolution and property onboarding.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in operations or maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills in trades such as HVAC, electrical, or carpentry; certifications are a plus.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Comfort with technology and mobile apps; knowledgeable in Google Suite.
  • Physical ability to lift items and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Background in construction, hospitality, or operations is advantageous.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and willingness to travel between properties.
