Media and Press Relations Specialist / Leader
Role Profile
This role supports the development of a comprehensive strategy for the company's media and press relations efforts. It involves building relationships with key media channels, increasing positive media coverage, and enhancing brand awareness through targeted media use. The role collaborates with the social media team to ensure unified messaging across all channels.
Reports to: Media Relations Director
Responsibilities:
- Implement a comprehensive media strategy for the company and lead integrated multimedia campaigns.
- Stay updated with emerging media trends and non-traditional media channels; adapt media and public strategy accordingly.
- Collaborate with the social media team to present unified messages across all media and social media channels.
- Coordinate with other functions to ensure consistent messaging to media outlets both externally and on intranet.
Relationship Building and Management
- Develop and foster relationships with key media channels to increase positive media coverage.
- Identify and introduce new media channels to maximize coverage.
- Serve as the primary contact with media bloggers and internal editorial teams, responding to media requests.
- Assist in securing feature stories and appearances in national, regional, and local media outlets, both print and web-based.
Content Creation
- Create and distribute company news via press releases, advisories, individual pitches, etc.
- Utilize innovative media formats (videos, podcasts, social media, etc.) to enhance media presence.
- Write local media alerts, editorial placements, web updates, and printed articles.
- Manage an editorial calendar to maximize media coverage and exposure.
- Support external website content and linkages.
- Contribute to social media efforts.
Brand Awareness
- Proactively drive and elevate the company's brand awareness among the public through targeted media use.
- Work closely with business units to communicate new initiatives and align media strategy with business objectives.
Training and Coaching
Support training and coaching activities for leadership.
Monitoring, Tracking & Cost Control
- Oversee digital media monitoring systems to track and evaluate media presence.
- Manage budget and control expenses.
Requirements:
- Basic proficiency in Italian (desired).
- Experience: 3-4 years.
- Availability to travel abroad.
- Excellence and results-driven attitude.
Location: Milan (The position is based in Milan, not Dalmine)
