Trainee Contract Logistics Distribution Manager

Contract Logistics Distribution Trainee works within Contract Logistics. In this role, she/he will support adidas Campus South, our new fully automated warehouse located in Mantua, which spans over 130,000 square metres and exemplifies excellence and innovation in automated technology operations. The Trainee will be part of the Distribution team and will collaborate with Flow Planners and the Operations department to manage carriers and transportation services. Under the supervision of the Contract Logistics Distribution Manager, her/his main goal will be to learn how to manage the scheduling and organization of all trucks' arrivals and departures to ensure smooth inbound and outbound workflows. Additionally, she/he will interact with team members to update customers on transportation needs.

Your Role

The Contract Logistics Distribution Trainee will support the team by assisting with daily delivery operations, collaborating with flow planning stakeholders and using Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure efficient logistics processes. She/he will shadow team members to develop customer interaction skills, providing updates on shipment status, delays, and transport schedules. The Trainee will learn to communicate with Operations regarding workflow status, issues, delays, or advances, and adapt transportation schedules accordingly. Furthermore, she/he will monitor transport services using statistical and metric approaches, helping to implement strategies to prevent delays. The role also involves supporting the resolution of transportation issues that may impact warehouse workflows and KPIs, and maintaining relationships with transport carriers through daily communication to ensure efficient transport planning.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist in executing daily deliveries of customer goods in collaboration with flow planning stakeholders using WMS.
• Develop communication channels with the customer to provide updates on shipment status, delays, and schedules.
• Coordinate with Operations to share workflow status, address issues, and adjust transport schedules as needed.
• Monitor transport services using data and metrics, and support the development of strategies to avoid delays.
• Support the implementation of actions to resolve transportation issues affecting warehouse workflows and KPIs.
• Maintain relationships with transport carriers to facilitate efficient transport planning.

Your Skills and Experiences

• No proven work experience required; however, interest in automated fulfillment operations or last-mile/delivery stations, especially in eCommerce, fashion, or retail, is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to read and create dashboard data representations to communicate information clearly to stakeholders.
• Interest in metrics and data analysis.
