  • Who we are looking for_
  • Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD Scientist with background in pharmacology to work in a Team within the Target Validation Unit in Parma. This new position will implement Target Validation activities in the respiratory field. The focus will be mainly in in vivo chronic respiratory disease modelling. She or he will work closely with project teams to drive the preclinical Target Identification, Selection and Validation pipeline.

  • To develop targeted therapies for respiratory chronic diseases it is necessary to set-up pharmacodynamic and disease in vitro and in vivo models that mimic as much as possible the time-course of the disease and that enable a therapeutic intervention with the drug treatments under investigation. Main activities are :
  • Support mainly the in vivo TV experimental activities in chronic models of respiratory diseases already set-up in Chiesi (new models of ILDs, trangesnic models, extra-pulmonary fibrosis models)
  • Develop in vivo chronic models for COPD, ARDS, Bronchiectasis & ILDs and and other diseases
  • Test in the disease models the new targets / therapies
  • Overall experimental activities would cover at least a 70% of the total time. Remaining 30% will be focused on extra-lab activities
  • Main Responsibilities
  • Implementation of in vivo chronic respiratory disease assets;
  • Study Monitoring for outsourced activities;
  • Responsible for managing external academic collaborators and CROs to deliver high-quality results;
  • Serve on internal project teams and provide pharmacology expertise
  • Experience Required
  • Education

PhD in pharmacology or in other related fields.

Fluency in English is a must
