Job Opportunity: Project Construction Manager
Duration: 12 months fixed-term contract with potential extension and/or transformation.
Location: Milan, Italy
The Project Construction Manager will support project development related to the demolition/decommissioning of disused industrial assets, such as refining plants, petrochemical facilities, reinforced concrete structures, tanks, and underground pipelines. The supervision of projects will start from the detailed design phase, handled by external suppliers, then move to tendering, and finally to on-site execution, with a focus on safety and environmental issues.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the unit manager in maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties involved in decommissioning projects;
- Oversee coordination activities related to assigned decommissioning sites and projects;
- Assist in preparing monthly project management reports;
- Coordinate decommissioning projects according to approved plans and phases, leading the site team;
- Ensure project activities are completed on time and within budget;
- Optimize work schedules and budgets;
- Monitor project progress and execution;
- Assist in preparing progress and cost reports;
- Review, evaluate, negotiate, and approve contractual variations per company policies and project procedures;
- Supervise and coordinate project activities in accordance with client HSEQ standards.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering;
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in similar roles;
- Previous experience in operational coordination for decommissioning or similar activities;
- Willingness to travel frequently within Italy (about two days per week);
- Ability to manage administrative, contractual, and HSEQ issues;
- Proficiency with databases for archiving and reporting;
- Good knowledge of Legislative Decree 81/08;
- Experience supervising sites under Title IV regulations;
- Ability to independently develop monthly reports and presentations;
- Experience in verifying and validating SALs.
Contract Details: 12 months fixed-term with potential extension or transformation.
Working Hours: 8 hours/day, Monday to Friday, with a 50% office presence in Milan and 50% field supervision at sites in Manfredonia, Priolo, Venice, and Ravenna, including travel.
