Company Overview

SICIM is a world leader in engineering, procurement, and construction in the Oil & Gas sector. We are looking to train a Project Welding Coordinator for our various worldwide projects.

Position

Sicim is currently seeking a Welding Engineer to be based at our headquarters in Busseto.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical and operational analyses related to welding and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) aspects of projects, proposing solutions to meet requirements efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinate and supervise qualification of welding procedures, welder qualifications, and validation tests for NDT both at the site and projects as required.
  • Prepare welding and NDT technical documentation (procedures, work instructions, reports, welding matrix, ITP, WPQR, WPS, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Department for procurement of filler materials and shielding gases, and manage stock levels.
  • Work with the Subcontracting Department to request NDT services for projects and headquarters.
  • Coordinate with the Commercial Department on technical aspects during tender preparations.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot welding and NDT issues during production.
  • Coordinate welding and NDT activities once production has started.
  • Work with Quality and Project Management to ensure proper management of welding quality and NDT controls, maintaining quality and production targets.
  • Assist in maintaining company quality certifications such as ISO 3834-2, ISO 9001.
  • Act as a technical focal point with clients, supervision of works, subcontractors, and third parties.
  • Plan and perform audits and inspections of welding and NDT activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or related fields such as Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry).
  • Possession of IWE (International Welding Engineer) certification.
  • Previous experience in the Oil & Gas sector is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of English (at least B2 level); knowledge of Spanish or German is a plus.
  • Proficiency in office software (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, CAD, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel abroad for short / medium periods.
  • Proactive, problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, flexible, adaptable.
