In the aim of expanding the ETCS On Board System Engineering Team, AngelStar is looking for a candidate to work in the system engineering activities for the ETCS OBU development and integration with country-specific ATP systems as well as in projects for the specific application of ETCS on-board systems into rail vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and analysing the input documentation and Customer/generally applicable requirements.
  • Identifying the functions, the architecture and the interfaces of the on board signalling system being the transportation standard in Italy and all over Europe.
  • Creation of concepts, system requirements specifications and architectures at system/subsystem level.
  • Designing the system and its configuration, developing the relevant documentation.
  • Interfacing the Customer and the other partners.
  • Participating in meetings with the development team of AngelStar and other partners.
  • Applying processes, methods & tools in accordance with AngelStar standards.
  • Carrying out system integration activities in lab and on field.
  • Supporting laboratory tests and on-site activities.

Technical Skills, Qualifications, and Professional Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the railway industry, preferably with the role of Systems Engineer and/or Designer focused on Board Systems.
  • Basic knowledge of disciplines related to On Board Systems design: applicable norms, ETCS OBU function and architecture, European Technical Standards.
  • Knowledge of main regulations relating to on-board systems in the railway sector.
  • Related knowledge of RAMS disciplines is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of the IBM DOORS requirements management tool.
  • Understanding of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations.
  • Ability to work effectively across all organizational levels and contribute constructively.
  • Preparedness to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, international environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously within teams and projects.
  • Availability for short-term national and international business trips.
