One Mission Society has a vision of making reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ and equipping them to be transformational in their spheres of influence. To accomplish this, the Bike Repair Technician will work within a Disciple-Making team, modeling disciple-making practices with individuals and churches to foster a disciple-making movement.

The technician will also repair bicycles at the Agape Bici bicycle shop and teach others how to repair bikes.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with disciple-making processes is a plus.

  • Understanding of spiritual disciplines and scriptural application.

  • Constructive teamwork skills in disciple-making, showing respect for team members.
  • Ability to learn the local language to an intermediate level.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair bicycles independently.
  • Customer interface skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain a deepening relationship with Jesus through prayer, scripture reading, fasting, and other spiritual disciplines.
  2. Engage with your team through prayer, fasting, worship, and accountability.
  3. Utilize OMS-approved processes to evangelize non-believers and help others grow as reproducing disciples.
  4. Collaborate with the Disciple-Making team to plan and implement local disciple-making processes.
  5. Start disciple-making groups within churches, train leaders, and identify future local leaders.
  6. Prepare churches spiritually for partnership with Church Development to reach their communities.
  7. Contribute to developing new strategies and training opportunities in disciple-making.
  8. Assist in planning conferences and trainings, and work with stewardship teams.
  9. Identify and recommend resources and processes for translation and broader implementation.
  10. Develop and maintain effective relationships with the Disciple-Making and Church Development teams.
  11. Support other OMS Country Team ministries as appropriate.
  12. Complete bicycle repairs for individuals visiting Agape Bici.
  13. Repair donated bicycles for distribution to the community.
  14. Manage purchases and inventory of tools and parts.
  15. Willingness to learn the local language to an intermediate level.

This is a support-based position requiring raising financial support for salary and expenses.
