Danieli Automation, with over 40 years of experience in the steel industry worldwide, is a leading technological partner in production management, process control, and electrical solutions. We are currently expanding our team within the Electrical Hardware Engineering department. Location: Buttrio (UD).

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret automation block diagrams, electrical data, plant layouts, and electrical schematics of panels to gather information necessary for designing plant data networks.
  • Evaluate the type of network cabling to use based on technology requirements, contractual constraints, topology, and distances.
  • Size and select network devices (switches, media converters, repeaters).
  • Define and create, using CAD 2D, plant network diagrams in coordination with other technical offices.
  • Size plant IT equipment (PCs, servers, operator panels) based on usage specifications.
  • Define configuration specifications for network devices and server systems.
  • Draft technical specifications for the procurement of simple external purchase systems (PCs, servers, network devices).
  • Collaborate with clients to determine the technical solutions to adopt.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Automation, or Networking.
  • Previous experience in designing IT and OT data networks.
  • Experience configuring network devices (switches, access points, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of data networks and TCP/IP protocol.
  • Good knowledge of OT network protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT).
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (client and server).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Knowledge of CAD 2D.
  • English language proficiency at least B1 CEFR level.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Organizational and collaborative skills.
  • Results-oriented attitude.
  • Proactive with decision-making spirit.
  • Willingness to undertake short travels (up to 2 weeks) worldwide for approximately 2 months per year.
