We are looking for a Senior Sales Specialist for our office based in Genova, Italy

THE ROLE

  • Build and develop strong business relationships to effectively meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Prepare and send competitive quotations to customers and international Akkon offices, ensuring timely follow-up and communication.
  • Design and implement commercial strategies aimed at achieving sales targets, maximizing profitability, and increasing market share.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by nurturing long-term, professional relationships and ensuring consistent client satisfaction.
  • Identify potential clients and proactively engage with prospective customers to understand their logistics and shipping requirements.
  • Keep an up-to-date and detailed customer database, including key contacts and company profiles.
  • Negotiate effectively with suppliers and carriers to secure optimal rates and services.
  • Analyze market trends and commercial opportunities to drive sales growth and business expansion.
  • Prospect new customers and explore additional business within existing accounts.
  • Maintain and regularly update a pipeline database, including accurate forecasts and opportunity tracking.
  • Monitor competitor activity closely and suggest strategic responses when needed.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Headquarters, providing updates on commercial activities in Genova, including competition insights, project follow-ups, and pending issues.

THE PROFILE

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial and business development experience, preferably within the maritime/ marine services industry
  • A good communicator with excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Strong negotiation skills, analytical skills and the ability to think strategically
  • Ability to work in a team, flexibility, commitment and initiative
