Position: Freelancer DSS

Location: Italy (Freelancer opportunity, Band 2 engineer)

Locations & Schedule:

  • Caramagna - Third Wednesday of each month
  • Capriata D'Orba - Third Tuesday of each month

Job Description

The Desktop Technician will provide day-to-day local and remote desktop support, handle inbound calls, troubleshoot, and document steps to resolve hardware, software, and application issues using a ticketing system. The candidate will facilitate customer resolutions, engage supervisors and managers to ensure operational consistency, and perform fault diagnosis and resolution for various operating systems and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first/second level support and problem resolution for customer issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve complex AV issues.
  • Communicate issue status and resolution updates promptly.
  • Maintain accurate ticket updates for all incidents.
  1. Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot Windows XP, 7, 8.1, 10, Microsoft Office 2010, Cisco Jabber, and other authorized applications.
  2. Have basic knowledge of Mac OS to support Apple PC users.
  3. Support printers and hardware troubleshooting.
  4. Perform preventive maintenance on computers, laptops, and printers.
  5. Conduct repairs on desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
  6. Use diagnostic tools for network connectivity and hardware/software issues.
  7. Possess a broad understanding of IT, including networks, servers, AV, smart devices, and telecoms.
  8. Work flexibly in a project-based environment, performing additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+ and MCP or higher.
  • At least 3 years of IT experience.
  • Experience with Windows 7-10, Active Directory, GPOs, MS Office 365, hardware troubleshooting, enterprise antivirus, helpdesk systems.
  • Knowledge of mobile device management (iOS and Android), encryption solutions, and Windows PC/laptop management.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet SLAs.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to industry changes.
  • Willingness to work off-hours and weekends when needed.
