Job Description

AECOm is seeking an experienced environmental professional for an ambitious infrastructure modernization project.

The role involves coordinating environmental aspects on-site, managing compliance with regulations, and ensuring environmental standards are met based on intervention type, regulatory constraints, and territorial context.

The candidate will:

  • Ensure activity control and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the application of procedures, communication flows, and conduct inspections.

Specifically, the role includes:

  • Supporting the Project Manager during coordination meetings, area handovers, and project compliance;
  • Verifying the completeness of Environmental Specifications and Management Plans (soil, rocks, waste, etc.);
  • Ensuring adherence to permits and authorizations through on-site visits;
  • Managing environmental reporting (energy, water, waste quantities, CO2 emissions);
  • Supporting the Project Manager in handling environmental non-conformities and liaising with authorities;
  • Assisting in the permitting process.

Qualifications

We are particularly looking for candidates with:

  • A degree in Environmental Engineering or related technical disciplines;
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental management on construction sites;
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to soil, waste, and asbestos;
  • Interest in environmental management systems, permitting, and monitoring;
  • Motivation, initiative, and organizational skills to work effectively in a complex multidisciplinary environment;
  • Good proficiency in Italian and English;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to produce and understand technical reports;
  • Good documentation practices;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
  • Driving license B;
  • Knowledge of ISO 19011 audit techniques and ISO 14001 standards.
