Clearance: Dependent on the future job opportunity, ranging from TOP SECRET with SCI & CI Poly to Public Trust.

Work Location: Dependent on the future job opportunity, including the "DC Area" (Washington DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia), Atlanta, Georgia, and Tampa, Florida.

Remote Work: Dependent on the future job opportunity. Many Public Trust jobs are remote, and some clearance-required jobs allow remote work.

Travel: Dependent on the future job opportunity.

Job Description: As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security of enterprise applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy cloud solutions aligned with business goals, leveraging your AWS expertise, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Job Duties:

  • Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-scale AWS cloud infrastructure ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Work with development teams to architect and implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFormation.
  • Create automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code templates to streamline cloud resource management.
  • Monitor and optimize AWS resource performance, focusing on cost efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Implement and maintain cloud security controls, including IAM, VPC, and data encryption.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues to minimize downtime and ensure performance.
  • Stay updated on AWS services, features, and best practices, and recommend their adoption.
  • Collaborate on cloud governance policies, compliance, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Assist in designing hybrid cloud solutions integrating on-premises infrastructure with AWS.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or equivalent.

Experience:

  • At least 4 years of AWS cloud infrastructure design, implementation, and management experience.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security, including IAM, VPC, and Security Groups.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Elastic Stack, or Prometheus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in Agile environments is highly desirable.
