JOB SCOPE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for two Plant Quality Managers for the production sites in Napoli and Alessano.
The Plant Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the quality system within the production site, ensuring that processes and products comply with the company's standards and client requirements. The role includes direct management of in-house quality control activities, coordination of external workers, and organization of inspections on finished products.
Job responsibilities
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES
* Ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the entire production process
* Ensure the control of finished goods in line with the expected shipping timelines
* Implement and manage quality control procedures in line with company policies
* Lead and supervise the internal quality team and inspection technicians
* Manage the monitoring of external companies, ensuring subcontractors and third-party suppliers meet the required quality standards and technical specifications
* Conduct internal and external audits and regular visits to external workshops to verify production processes and final goods quality
* Work closely with production, logistics, and procurement departments to prevent and resolve non-conformities
* Analyze quality data and define continuous improvement plans for the relevant perimeter
* Prepare quality reports and participate in meetings with upper management
* Oversee training activities for internal staff and external suppliers on quality topics
* Attend client or certification body inspections when required
STRATEGY and KEY TASKS
* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product quality
* Perform root cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions to prevent recurrence of defects or quality issues
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality assurance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
Profile
TECHNICAL SKILLS - PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Industrial field. Master degree is a plus
* At least 10 years experience in Quality and Supplier Quality, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role overseeing product quality, preferably in a dynamic international setting focused on Operations, especially in Leathergoods
* Deep knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) and quality management software (e.g., SAP QM, Oracle, QMS systems)
* Expertise in quality control methodologies such as Six Sigma, SPC, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
* Proficiency in quality auditing, process validation, and testing protocols
* Strong ability to work cross-functionally with Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams
* Demonstrated leadership, analytical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
* Negotiation skills and effective conflict management
* Ability to translate business needs into strategic actions and address complex operational and supplier challenges
* Certifications in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) are advantageous
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
* English (B2 or higher); French (plus)
