Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Special Processes Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks, from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pistoia, Italy.

Accountabilities

• Define and monitor the requirements for Special Processes.
• Implement corrective actions to achieve standards.
• Promote actions to improve the development of Special Processes.

Competencies (optional)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, including internal and external members across geographically distributed sites.

Required Skills/Knowledge

Design and construction of mechanical joints by:

• Bolting
• Riveting
• Bonding
• Welding

Surface treatment and protection in materials like aluminum alloy, carbon steel, and stainless steel.

Quality checks on mechanical joints and surface treatments.

Desired Skills/Knowledge

Familiarity with international standards:

• EN 15085
• DIN 25201/pr_EN17976
• EN 17460
• EN ISO 12944

Education / Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (3- or 5-year courses).
• Certifications related to Special Processes.
• At least one year of professional experience in processes like Torque Tightening, Riveting, Crimping, Painting, Structural Bonding, or Brazing.

Languages (optional)

English (B2/C1 or higher) and Italian language skills are mandatory for manufacturing.
