About The Role

As a Senior Casualty Underwriter with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in Milan, you'll be at the forefront of underwriting general liability policies with a special focus on international programs for upper middle market and large corporate clients. This role combines technical expertise with relationship management, offering you the perfect balance of analytical work and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions with brokers, existing clients, and prospects, demonstrating deep understanding of their requirements and expectations
• Manage and grow the renewal portfolio while actively generating new business opportunities
• Analyze risk exposures and assess technical insurability across diverse industry sectors
• Review and develop cover structures, wordings, proposals, and prepare compelling quotations
• Leverage market knowledge to attract new opportunities and select risks carefully and efficiently
• Contribute to strategic projects within Corporate Solutions, including wording development
• Collaborate in international deal teams to structure comprehensive insurance solutions

You'll be joining the Casualty & FinPro team within Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (CorSo), the commercial insurance arm of the Swiss Re Group. As one of the world's leading providers of reinsurance and insurance solutions, we help clients mitigate risk exposure across natural catastrophes, climate change, cybercrime, and more. Our team operates from approximately 50 locations worldwide, offering innovative insurance solutions to large and midsized multinational corporations. We pride ourselves on our industry-leading claims service and our ability to provide clients with comprehensive peace of mind through expert risk management solutions.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Meet These Requirements

• Fluent communication skills in both Italian and English (additional languages beneficial)
• 10+ years of proven experience in General Liability insurance markets
• Demonstrated ability to assess complex risks, coverages, and policy terms & conditions in their legal context
• Proficiency with underwriting tools and relevant IT applications
• Strong numeracy skills and understanding of actuarial concepts

Role

For Italy, the base annual salary range for this position is between EUR 79,000 and EUR 131,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
  
  

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.

Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
