Principal Cost Estimator

AspenTech is seeking a Principal Cost Estimator to assist our account managers in growing our business and supporting sales of the Economic Evaluation and Cost Estimation solutions, with a focus on E&C (Engineering & Construction), Chemical, and Energy (Oil & Gas or Refining) customers. Experience in Project Cost Estimation is required; plant layout and piping experience are a plus. We target capital project execution in chemicals, refining, and EPC industry clients. Key traits of this role include industry understanding, deep consultative skills, understanding of AspenTech's product strategy, and effective communication to both technical and management audiences. The Senior Principal SC is an experienced engineer working with clients to understand their challenges and initiatives, identifying applications of our tools to address these issues. You will work independently and with the sales team to drive adoption of new software solutions.

Job Responsibilities

1. Determine and understand prospective clients’ critical business issues to present and demonstrate AspenTech’s software capabilities as the best solution.
2. Identify solutions to improve customer profitability and capital project results based on your technical and industry knowledge.
3. Analyze and present business benefit cases.
4. Present technical product discussions.
5. Manage and assist with awareness education campaigns, both on-site and online.
6. Support software evaluations.
7. Assist the sales team with short-term and strategic planning to build the sales pipeline.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience in E&C, Energy, or Chemical industries.
• Cost Estimation experience; familiarity with Aspen Capital Cost Estimator is an advantage.
• Strong business acumen.
• Ability to manage customer discussions across technical contributors to VP-level managers, identifying improvements.
