Are you passionate about IT infrastructure and eager to gain hands-on experience in a high-tech, mission-critical environment? Do you want to work on one of Europe's most ambitious satellite navigation projects and grow into a System Administrator role?

We are looking for a motivated intern to join our team and support the IT operations of the Galileo program. This internship is designed as a stepping stone to becoming a full-time System Administrator, offering direct involvement in server management, networking, and system integration in the space industry.

ABOUT US

ESYEN is an engineering company offering services to the Space Industry, working with major international Customers and Agencies like EUSPA and ESA. Since 2012, we play an active role in all the main European Space Programs, including Earth Observation, Navigation and Secure Satcom.

Our team has a solid track record in providing Ground Segment services across the major EU Space Programmes. ESYEN operates in Italy, Germany, France and Spain, with a strong commitment to innovation and quality of service.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Education & Background

  • Enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Passion for IT infrastructure, networking, and system administration

Technical Knowledge (Nice to Have, but Not Mandatory)

  • Basic understanding of Windows & Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (IP addressing, routing, firewalls)
  • Interest in virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Docker)
  • Some experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Eligibility for security clearance (or willingness to obtain it)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

During the internship, you will work alongside experienced System Administrators, gaining practical experience in the IT infrastructure supporting the Galileo satellite navigation system.

You will be involved in:

  • Assisting in the installation and configuration of IT infrastructure, including servers, networking devices, and cryptographic systems
  • Supporting the setup and management of containerized services using Docker
  • Helping with the integration and testing of new software and hardware releases

Operational Support & Learning

  • Assisting with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks
  • Supporting anomaly investigations, change control, and system migrations
  • Learning best practices in high-availability IT environments for space applications

This internship is a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in a highly specialized field, with the goal of transitioning into a full-time System Administrator role at the end of the program.
