Within the L5 Component Repair Insourcing Program, the Engineer Special Process will be responsible for supporting the site special process. She/he will handle technical specifications, purchasing, and industrialization of such technologies within the AAJV Global Shops Network.
Short-term Special Process Engineer shall:
- Develop technical knowledge in AAJV special process products and services through technical training and mentorship from Special Process Engineers / Managers.
- Support ongoing projects through on-the-job training alongside other Special Process Engineers.
Long-term Special Process Engineer shall:
- Master technical knowledge in one or more special processes.
- Become the Subject Matter Expert for one or more special processes within the AAJV L5 Global Shops Network.
- Collaborate with other Special Process Engineers to implement new processes across the network.
She/he will report to the Process Engineering Manager.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the technical reference point for special processes at the Mesagne site, including NTI (New Technology Introduction).
- Assist in defining engineering specifications for equipment purchase based on repair engineering routings.
- Support the technical selection of farmout companies (Mesagne Avenza and Port Klang) to ensure business continuity and manage load peaks.
- Support the technical selection and alignment of equipment suppliers.
- Assist in the industrialization of processes related to NTI.
- Contribute to writing and maintaining operative procedures for special process operations.
- Support repair engineers with repairs and work instructions for special processes.
- Assist in the rollout and industrialization of L5 Special Processes and Repairs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent significant manufacturing experience.
- Willingness to be assigned to Avenza, Firenze, or Port Klang for on-the-job training.
- Fluency in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
- Experience working with local and remote teams to complete complex projects on time.
- Previous experience in technical selection of new equipment and industrialization.
Desired Characteristics:
- Proven experience in component manufacturing or aerospace engine/process studies.
- Ability to prioritize business needs and manage budgets effectively.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
