Software Test Engineer ( Web applications)
Workplace: TOPCON Facility Centre in Italy – Concordia sulla Secchia ( MO)
Possible smart working activity ( home office) for 2 days per week
JOB PURPOSE:
- Software quality engineer for testing web applications and services
- Developing automated tests using Python and Playwright
- Analysis of test results
- Tight cooperation w/ with developers and PM (requirements clarification, use cases)
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases and test scripts including documenting test cases with test steps, expected results and actual results
- Analyze test results and report defects and bugs using a bug tracking tool, including detailed steps to reproduce the issue
- Conduct functional, regression and performance testing, including load and stress testing
- Provide feedback on software quality and make recommendations for improvements, including identifying and tracking software defects and issues
- Inspecting WEB browser console messages to understand and detect potential errors, follows network activity to understand if issues are on frontend or backend
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the product requirements, user stories and use cases and provide feedback on the feasibility of the requirements
- Create and maintain automated test scripts using testing tool like playwright
- Maintain test data and test environments to support testing activities
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code meets quality standards for automated tests
- Participate actively to create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
Education, Skills, and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in software testing and automation
- Technical skills - automation testing and knowledge of testing tools: Jira, TestRail Programming: Python, TypeScript, JS, HTML
- General skills – Attention to detail, problem solving, analytical thinking, communication and adaptability
