BB&E is an employee-owned, full-service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering, and Program / Project Management Services to the Federal and private sectors.

Position Summary

BB&E is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Inside Plant (ISP) Technician-System Administrator to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) support for telecommunications systems at for NAVSUP in Naples, Italy.

This position ensures reliable and secure performance of Inside Plant infrastructure, VoIP systems, and related communications equipment to support mission-critical operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide O&M support for installed telephone systems, VoIP systems, and associated equipment.
  • Operate, maintain, install, relocate, and troubleshoot telephone extensions, programming, and ancillary equipment.
  • Perform programming changes on telephone numbers, adjust class of service, and activate / deactivate special features.
  • Respond to incidents, requests, and critical incidents within required timelines.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for telephone communications outages; coordinate with Tier III support and the BCO help desk.
  • Use the Help Desk system to manage work orders and maintain an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) of 90% or higher.
  • Respond to alarms and system outages; investigate, isolate, and resolve all alarms on equipment and systems.
  • Operate and maintain Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) software systems; perform VoIP network administration, routing, and software management.
  • Support troubleshooting, installation, inspection, and maintenance of T-2 and VoIP technology.
  • Perform all terminations at patch panels for installation, relocation, or removal of telephone services.
  • Maintain accurate cable records, switch patch panels, and provide monthly Planned Maintenance System (PMS) reports.
  • Coordinate tool and supply inventories with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
  • Conduct preventive maintenance following best safety standards.
  • Ensure all work restores original equipment performance and adheres to professional and safety standards.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of tactical or commercial telecommunications equipment.
  • 3–5 years of experience in VoIP network administration, systems programming, routing, and IT / teleconferencing deployments.
  • Security+ and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Voice certification (or equivalent experience).
  • Familiarity with DoD cyberspace workforce requirements and best practices.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) systems.
  • Proficiency in PC operations at the operator level.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances and government access credentials

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Physical Requirements : Must be able to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, operate office equipment, and lift up to 25 lbs. May work in confined spaces and at heights; must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
