This role will be part of the SQIM R&D department, reporting to the R&D Director, and will serve as the team leader, guiding and supporting the R&D research team.
Key responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination: Develop and manage detailed work plans, allocate resources, set priorities and deadlines, and monitor progress to ensure timely project execution.
Technical Leadership & Support: Provide scientific guidance, troubleshoot complex issues, design and execute experiments, and validate research data for accuracy and compliance.
Innovation & Process Development: Propose and implement improvements, facilitate technology transfer, and stay informed on the latest trends in fermentation science.
Experimental Design & Execution: Lead hands-on lab work, design and run experiments for internal and external projects, and ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare thorough reports, interpret data to generate insights, and maintain high-quality documentation aligned with company standards.
Communication & Collaboration: Report to R&D leadership, coordinate with production and quality teams, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Lab Operations & Safety: Oversee lab maintenance, enforce safety protocols, and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
Education and experience
Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology, biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or related field required.
Experience in microbiology, fermenter/bioreactor operation and/or design, process data analytics, preferably within private industry.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Fluency in Italian and English (both written and spoken).
