Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Technical Architecture.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise‑grade AWS architectures.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise in Terraform, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Ansible, and Shell scripting.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud‑native architecture, microservices, and automation.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, observability, and production support.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and performance engineering.
  • Experience working across multiple environments and supporting mission‑critical production workloads.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and lead enterprise-scale AWS architectures that are secure, highly available, scalable, resilient, and cost‑effective.
  • Define cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and infrastructure best practices.
  • Provide hands‑on expertise across AWS services including: VPC, EC2, EFS, Auto Scaling, ELB, IAM, CloudWatch, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, MSK, Elasticache, ACM, Security Hub, Glacier, and more.
  • Architect infrastructure with Terraform, establishing modular, reusable IaC and governance.
  • Develop Ansible playbooks and shell scripts for automation of configuration, patching, backup, and operations.
  • Lead CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines using Jenkins, with SonarQube, JFrog Artifactory integration, and quality gates.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for an accomplished Technical Architect with 8+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and leading enterprise‑grade cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of technical architecture, hands‑on engineering, automation, cloud transformation, application deployment, and technical leadership experience. The candidate will be responsible for architecting highly available, scalable, secure, resilient, and cost‑optimised platforms while driving automation, standardisation, CI/CD adoption, containerisation, observability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

The role requires a strong understanding of modern cloud‑native architectures, coupled with the ability to work hands‑on with engineering teams and provide technical direction across the complete application and infrastructure lifecycle.

Cloud Architecture & AWS:
  • Design and implement enterprise-scale AWS architectures that are secure, highly available, scalable, resilient, and cost‑effective.
  • Define cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and infrastructure best practices.
  • Provide hands‑on expertise across AWS services including: VPC, EC2, EFS, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancer, IAM, CloudWatch, S3, Lifecycle Manager, SNS, Lambda, Secrets Manager, MSK, ElastiCache, ACM, DynamoDB, Security Hub, SES, S3 Glacier, Fault Injection Service, and RDS.
  • Design solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, scalability, performance, and fault tolerance.
  • Perform architecture and infrastructure reviews to identify opportunities for performance improvement, security enhancement, automation, and cost as Code & Platform Automation:
  • Architect and implement infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, following modular, reusable, version‑controlled, and scalable IaC practices.
  • Establish Terraform standards covering modules, remote state, environment isolation, governance, and lifecycle management.
  • Automate infrastructure configuration, provisioning, patching, backup, and operational processes.
  • Develop Ansible playbooks for OS configuration, patch management, application configuration, and recurring operational activities.
  • Develop robust Shell scripts for infrastructure, application, database, and log‑management automation.
  • Reduce manual operational activities through automation and self‑service infrastructure capabilities.
CI/CD & DevSecOps Architecture
  • Design and implement enterprise‑grade CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Configure and manage Jenkins environments from the ground up, including distributed build and deployment architectures.
  • Integrate SonarQube/SAST, security scanning, automated testing, artifact management, and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage artifact lifecycle and repositories using JFrog Artifactory.
  • Establish standardised build, deployment, release, rollback, and promotion strategies across multiple environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex pipeline, build, deployment, and integration issues and provide architectural solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in deployment frequency, release reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
Kubernetes, Docker & Cloud‑Native Platforms
  • Architect and manage containerised and cloud‑native application platforms using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Design Kubernetes environments with focus on scalability, availability, security, networking, resource optimisation, and operational resilience.
  • Develop and manage Helm charts for standardised application deployment and configuration.
  • Define best practices for Kubernetes workloads, configuration management, secrets, ingress, scaling, health checks, and deployment strategies.
  • Lead application modernisation initiatives involving microservices, containerisation, and Kubernetes adoption.
Application & Database Architecture
  • Provide technical architecture and deployment expertise for microservices, Apache Tomcat, and Angular‑based applications.
  • Design application deployment strategies supporting scalability, reliability, security, and seamless releases.
  • Architect and manage database platforms including MySQL, MongoDB, and YugabyteDB.
  • Define database provisioning, backup, recovery, high availability, monitoring, and performance‑management strategies.
  • Automate database backup and maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with development teams to resolve application, database, performance, and integration challenges.
Networking, Reverse Proxy & Traffic Management
  • Design and manage application traffic and reverse‑proxy solutions using NGINX and HAProxy.
  • Configure load balancing, SSL/TLS termination, routing, health checks, and traffic‑management policies.
  • Troubleshoot complex networking, connectivity, routing, and application‑access issues.
  • Ensure secure and optimised communication between application, infrastructure, and cloud components.
Observability, Monitoring & Logging
  • Design and implement enterprise monitoring and observability strategies using AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and Nagios.
  • Establish infrastructure, application, service, and availability monitoring with effective alerting and escalation mechanisms.
  • Implement centralised logging and log analytics using Graylog and ELK Stack.
  • Develop dashboards and operational metrics to provide visibility into system health, performance, capacity, and availability.
  • Define proactive monitoring and alerting strategies to minimise service disruption and improve MTTR.
Environment, Release & Infrastructure Management
  • Architect and manage Development, QA, UAT, Pre‑Production, and Production environments.
  • Define environment‑specific infrastructure standards, sizing, capacity, security, and deployment strategies.
  • Design infrastructure and instance strategies to support different application releases and workloads.
  • Ensure consistency across environments through automation and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Establish and maintain standards for backup, disaster recovery, patch management, security, monitoring, and operational readiness.
Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to DevOps, Cloud, Development, QA, and IT teams.
  • Translate business and application requirements into scalable and maintainable technical architectures.
  • Lead architecture discussions, solution design, technology evaluations, proof‑of‑concepts, and technical reviews.
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point for critical infrastructure, deployment, and production issues.
  • Mentor engineers and establish engineering standards, best practices, and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with application and business stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
  • Drive initiatives focused on automation, reliability, scalability, security, performance, and cost optimisation.
