Job summary

ZainTECH seeks a DevOps Lead Engineer to drive enterprise DevOps transformation with a focus on AWS and multi-cloud platforms. You will architect, implement, and govern CI/CD pipelines, IaC, container orchestration, and automation to accelerate software delivery while ensuring security, reliability, and compliance.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor teams, and collaborate with security, development, and business stakeholders to align DevOps capabilities with cloud modernization goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Required certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400), HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (or higher), CKA or CKAD.
• Deep technical expertise in CI/CD platforms including AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and related automation tools.
• Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies including Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi, Bicep, and configuration management solutions such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, AWS Systems Manager.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines supporting high-frequency deployments, automation, and release management.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise DevOps strategy, establishing standards and best practices for CI/CD pipelines and cloud operations across AWS and multi-cloud environments.
• Lead design and implementation of enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines using multiple tools, enabling secure, reliable software delivery.
• Design and implement scalable IaC frameworks and configuration management to ensure automated provisioning.
• Architect and manage Kubernetes platforms (EKS, AKS) and GitOps workflows with Helm, ArgoCD, FluxCD.
• Develop self-service platform capabilities and automation frameworks to empower developers.
• Design monitoring, observability, and reliability solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• Incorporate security throughout the SDLC with DevSecOps practices and policy-as-code.
• Mentor and lead DevOps, Platform Engineering, and SRE teams; collaborate with stakeholders for cloud modernization.

Job description

The DevOps Lead Engineer is responsible for leading enterprise DevOps transformation initiatives with a primary focus on AWS cloud platforms. This role is responsible for architecting, implementing, and governing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks, container orchestration platforms, automation strategies, and cloud-native DevOps solutions across multi-cloud environments. The position provides technical leadership to accelerate software delivery, improve operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring security, reliability, scalability, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

DevOps Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute the enterprise DevOps strategy, establishing standards, design patterns, and best practices for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, platform engineering, and cloud operations across AWS and multi-cloud environments.

CI/CD Pipeline Architecture & Automation

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and related automation platforms, enabling secure, reliable, and efficient software delivery.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Configuration Management

• Design and implement scalable Infrastructure as Code frameworks using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi, and configuration management solutions such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and AWS Systems Manager to ensure standardized and automated infrastructure provisioning.

Containerization & Kubernetes Platforms

• Architect and manage Kubernetes-based platforms including Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, and cloud-native container ecosystems. Lead implementation of GitOps workflows, Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, Flux CD, container security, and scalable deployment architectures.

Platform Engineering & Automation

• Develop self-service platform capabilities, automation frameworks, developer enablement tools, event-driven automation solutions, and operational workflows using Python, Bash, PowerShell, AWS Lambda, EventBridge, and related technologies.

Monitoring, Observability & Reliability Engineering

• Design and implement monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, alerting, and observability solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, New Relic, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices to ensure system reliability and performance.

Security & DevSecOps

• Integrate security throughout the software delivery lifecycle by implementing DevSecOps practices including vulnerability management, security scanning, compliance validation, secrets management, policy-as-code, secure software supply chain controls, and governance frameworks.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor DevOps, Platform Engineering, and SRE teams, conduct architecture and technical reviews, and collaborate with development, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to align DevOps capabilities with organizational objectives and cloud modernization initiatives.

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, platform engineering, systems administration, or related technical roles, with at least 4 years focused on AWS cloud platforms and DevOps practices.

• Strong scripting and automation expertise using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, or related programming languages.
• Experience implementing observability and monitoring solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, New Relic, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of Linux administration, networking fundamentals, cloud architecture principles, security best practices, and DevOps operating models.
• Experience implementing DevSecOps practices including SAST, DAST, container security, compliance automation, secrets management, and policy-as-code frameworks.
• Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, incident management, and operational excellence.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence technical and business teams while driving continuous improvement and DevOps maturity across the organization.
