Job summary

The Corporate Institute is seeking a senior Investment Banking executive (AVP/VP) to lead and execute complex ECM and Private Equity mandates. You will drive deal origination, structuring, and execution while engaging with founders, CXOs, and senior management to provide strategic financial advisory.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in executing equity and PE mandates including IPOs, QIPs and private placements.
• Advanced financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, comparables) and market analysis.
• Strong deal sourcing and business development capabilities with network in various sectors.
• Experience leading due diligence across financial, commercial, and legal aspects.
• Excellent communication to convey complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Postgraduate finance degree or professional qualifications are highly preferred.

Role : AVP/VP – Investment Banking – Equity/Private Equity

Role Overview :

This pivotal role involves leading and executing complex investment banking mandates with a strong focus on Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and Private Equity (PE) transactions. You will be instrumental in driving deal origination, structuring, and execution, working closely with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from high-growth startups to established corporates and institutional investors.

Your day-to-day will involve deep engagement with founders, CXOs, and senior management, providing strategic financial advisory that directly impacts their growth trajectories and capital allocation decisions. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the investment landscape, contribute significantly to the firm’s deal flow, and foster long‑term client relationships, ultimately driving substantial business outcomes and market impact.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead comprehensive Deal Sourcing and Business Development efforts to identify and cultivate new client relationships, originating mandates across equity and private equity fundraises for various sectors.
• Spearhead end-to-end Fund Raising and transaction execution processes, including preparing compelling investor presentations, detailed information memorandums, and managing investor outreach for equity and private equity placements.
• Develop sophisticated Financial Modeling and valuation analyses, constructing intricate financial projections and performing robust valuation methodologies (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable companies) to support deal structuring and negotiations.
• Oversee and conduct thorough Due Diligence processes, meticulously analyzing financial, commercial, and legal aspects of target companies to identify key risks and opportunities for investors and clients.
• Manage and nurture client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the deal lifecycle, ensuring seamless communication and strategic guidance from mandate inception to successful closure.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all deliverables.

Required Skillset :

• Demonstrated expertise in Investment Banking, with a proven track record in executing Private Equity and equity-related transactions, including IPOs, QIPs, rights issues, and private placements.
• Exceptional proficiency in advanced Financial Modeling, valuation techniques, and financial analysis, coupled with a keen understanding of market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong capabilities in Deal Sourcing and Business Development, with an established network and the ability to identify and convert new opportunities into mandates.
• In-depth experience in leading and managing complex Due Diligence processes, ensuring comprehensive risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.
• A postgraduate degree in Finance (MBA from a premier institution) or professional qualifications such as CA/CFA is highly preferred.
• Proven leadership abilities, with a capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving acumen.
